HKT-SS (HKT) announced its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2026, highlighting solid top-line expansion, margin resilience and an increased payout to investors.
Revenue rose 8.0% year on year to HK$18.69 billion, driven by a 5.0% upturn in mobile services to HK$4.39 billion and an 83.4% surge in mobile product sales to HK$1.85 billion. Excluding device sales, group revenue advanced 3.2% to HK$16.83 billion.
Group EBITDA improved 3.2% to HK$6.59 billion, supported by AI-enabled efficiency gains that helped trim operating-cost ratios. EBITDA margin on service revenue (excluding device sales) held at 39.1%. Adjusted funds flow increased 3.0% to HK$2.64 billion.
Profit attributable to holders of Share Stapled Units climbed 4.0% to HK$2.15 billion, lifting basic earnings per Share Stapled Unit to 28.41 HK cents. The board declared an interim distribution of 34.80 HK cents per Share Stapled Unit, up from 33.80 HK cents a year earlier.
Segmentally, Telecommunications Services (TSS) revenue grew 3.1% to HK$12.91 billion, while Mobile revenue jumped 20.1% to HK$6.25 billion on the strong handset cycle. Other Businesses contributed HK$568 million, broadly flat year on year.
Operational metrics strengthened: 5G post-paid subscribers expanded 16% to 2.2 million, fibre-to-the-home connections rose 4% to 1.10 million, and 2500M broadband subscriptions surged 68%. Now TV’s installed base increased 3% to 1.49 million following exclusive FIFA World Cup and extended Premier League rights.
Capital expenditure edged down 3.1% to HK$1.04 billion, representing 5.6% of revenue. Net finance costs fell 13.3% to HK$768 million, reflecting lower HIBOR. In June, HKT raised US$650 million via 10-year senior notes, bringing gross debt to HK$48.16 billion and average funding cost to 3.75%.
Management reaffirmed confidence in full-year momentum, citing AI-driven service demand, network leadership and disciplined capital deployment.
